To the firefighters, thank you you have big hearts, and courage. To those affected by the fires, you also have courage. Please know that the rest of Australia is with you. However, we have not gone through the horrendous ordeal that you have. So even though we would like to say we understand, we can only imagine.

The really wonderful thing is you are also supporting each other.
In the days, weeks, months ahead, if you need support my prayer is it will be made available.
all my thoughts are with you.

My thoughts and best wishes are with all those who have been directly affected by this local tradgedy. I cannot bear to imagine the pain and suffering everyone is going through whether you have lost your home, your loved ones or even close family, friends or pets. To the volunteers who selflessly donate their time to aid their unknown neighbours a huge a unforgettable thankyou goes out to you all. You are all nothing but heroes. To those of you who are yet to rebuild your lives from scratch please hold on to the hope that it can happen, it will take time but Im sure with the aid of most fellow australians we will all rally together to help each other through. To all of us who are left feeling helpless please donate some of your time. Instead of staying home to do the housework volunteer at an organistation for a day. Instead of buying a birthday present donate the money to charity. If you have a spare acre or two offer to house an animal for someone. If you have spare accomodation pleae offfer that. Together we can all make a differnce. To all the businesses that have fireman and volunteers employed please show your compassion by at least allowing your employees the time off without being penalised. This enables the resources to be there during the week when it may be mostly needed.

Pulling together…

To all those affected by the fires, my thoughts and heart are with you.

I am in the process and would like to organise fundraising events to help.

I am located in Camberwell and have a room to accommodate a family. I am also organising an event within our local community to raise funds.

If there is anyone in the Camberwell/Hawthorn district that would like to donate their time or if you have a business, your resources such as a meal for two, car services, any service that can be raffled for an event it would be more than welcome.

I already have a few local business’s happy to help, and well known Melbourne musicians and TV celebraties ready to pitch in.

If any business can offer any support it would be more than welcome as I try and organise this event for next month.

Please send your interest to me at zarinah@live.com.au or call me directly on 0431046989.

I am in the process of building a proposal for the event and would be grateful for any resources that can be supplied.

I am not looking for donations of money, just your experience, time and service.

ALL FUNDS WILL GO TOWARDS THE GIPPSLAND EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND.

Kind regards and gratitude,

Zarinah Adam

Helping with your cause

Hi Guys,

I currently live on the Gold Coast QLD. I grew up in Traralgon and to hear about the bushfires being so close to my home town is devostating as well as hearing the small towns & communities that have lost homes, lives, loved ones & also peoples livelihood. I could not imagine being in the same circumstance as some of the people in the Valley, the only way that it could be described is that it would be worse than a nightmare.

I would like to help from the Gold Coast in anyway I can. I have a large network of interstate & overseas investors that I currently deal with as well as business on the Gold Coast. I have sent them all and email/Text to support your cause, the donations should start coming in with people that are more than willing to help in this time of need.

And for all the volunteers keep up the fantastic work that you have done!

Dollars raised at Churchill

February 10th, 2009 by Admin

Friday night seems so long ago now after the sobering events of the weekend. None the less the Churchill community pulled together to raise $21,324.65 for GERF at an event hosted by the Churchill United Soccer Club.

If a small community like Churchill can raise this amount of money in such a short amount of time then I think there is tremendous scope for the Latrobe City Council to organise a massive relief concert to raise funds. Time is of the essence while the memory of this terrible disaster is raw in everyones minds.

The soundshell at Victory Park is a logical location and I’m certain top line acts will donate their time.

Take heart and keep hope

To all of you I send my support and thoughts. I live in Vancouver Canada, and am organizing donations and have forwarded the Gippsland Relief Fund to all who can donate. I am also arranging for donations to be collected and forwarded to this relief fund. My sister & her family live in Morwell and I have travelled all through the area as well as stayed there on many occasions. I am personally saddened and completely traumatized by the loss and devastation that has occurred there. I cannot tell you how much I am thinking of you and hoping for soft showers for your area. I want you to know that people around the world are thinking of you and praying for you, as well as sending all they can in the form of donations. Take heart and keep hope.

Keep up the good work

Our sympathy is not enough

February 9th, 2009 by Admin

It is not enough to say “Isn’t it terrible, poor people”. Support needs to be given in the form of monetary donations so that organisations such GERF can direct those funds where they are most needed. While I am living in the city, I was born in Gippsland and, while it is never enough, do sincerely sympathise with those people who have experienced loss during the fires. The fire fighters are the real heroes in these circumstances, though usually anonymous – much more than so-called sporting heroes who do not risk life and limb for others. You are in my prayers.
